Ozarks to Seoul: Back to Technicolor

"...we're not in Ar-kansas anymore..."
(Image from Wikipedia)

Apologies to all my fellow Arkansawyers, but I never could resist a pun.

We have indeed returned to Seoul, South Korea, where we sojourn far from 'our' Ozark home. I've placed that possessive pronoun in scare quotes, but I want to note here that in Ozark culture, those who marry into a clan are accepted as belonging to the place, which becomes their 'home' as well. This holds especially for women who marry in, but probably also for men -- though having no female siblings, I draw from no familial experience.

As one can see from the above image, I'm no longer restricted by a 'hillbilly' computer. I suppose that I could go back through those Ozark entries and post photos now, but that would alter the experience of being more technologically limited, so I'll leave those images to my memory and your imaginations but in a future post provide photographs.

For the immediate future, however, I have a lot of catching up to do, so I don't know when I'll post a photo-illustrated recapitulation of our Ozark trip.

Regularly scheduled blogging, however, will resume...

Welcome home.

It will be nice to see those photos when you do get around to posting them.

Nice, eh? Well, I'm not nice, so I'll never, ever post them.

Okay, I might post them, but not because I'm nice. I'll do it because I'm not nice. I'll do it only to drive all the non-Ozarkers to envious despair as they survey the beauty of the Ozarks and contrast it with the ugly of their own miserable lives.

Oh, and thank you for the welcome . . . uh, home?

Well it is sort of good to see pictures again, I do better when there're pictures. Got another "e" this mornin' as a result of "googlin on Gypsy" but this one was somewhat nicer.

But I am glad to see you and family have made it safely back to your second home, snow to the east of us, maybe some ice here tonight> I do hope your present atmospheric environment is less weird.

Just who all did you mention JK to. And more, just what did you tell? It seems someone thinks I am some kind of authority. I can only think they must have been drunk when you were near.

JK (aka Kapok)

JK, I don't recall mentioning Mr. Kapok to anyone offline, but your online presence is sufficiently compelling to impress all and sundry.

The weather here is fine, and I'll be blogging regularly, with photos...

Glad to hear you made it back to Seoul safely. Your kids will have some amazing stories to tell their classmates when the school year begins.

Is your wife still tossing that 5-year-plan around in her head?

I'm looking forward to your Ozark post, Jeffery!

It's good to know y'all arrived safely.

Sonagi, like the Soviet five-year plans, one never knows what to think about the claims...

The kids will certainly have memories and stories, but will any of their friends understand?

Daddio, I've now got Sun-Ae's Ozark photos and will post some as soon as I figure out how -- and what to write. Gotta be selective unless I want to write a book...

Your "Ozarks:" Series should at least run a few more episodes.

Daddio, I wish that I had time for more episodes.

But some anecdotes are there in my mind and will doubtless pop up from time to time, e.g., my son's reference to the 'nasty' bridge near Dolph, Arkansas when he meant 'natural' bridge.

Jeffery, I buzzed through your text about 9-11.
I suspect that you didn't know about WTC7. It fell at 5:20pm, on 9-11.
No plane hit this building.
To look at this go to Google,
(WTC7, Larry Silverstein).
This might open your eyes to what really happened on 9-11.
I stumbled onto your site by accident.
I was looking for another person that goes by the name, (Gypsy Scholar)
Talk to you later. rich brennan

Richard, your comment belongs on some other blog post than this one.

Thanks, anyway, for the advice, but I haven't yet been convinced by any of the various conspiracy theories . . . except for the one about an Al-Qaeda conspiracy, of course.

This blog post, however, is not the place to discuss the issue.
