Stormy Weather

A Tawny Port
Aged Ten Years

Any port in a storm, preferably a dry one, though a semi-dry is acceptable, whereas the typically sweet port is merely tolerable to my tastes, but any of them, in a storm, will serve to fortify my spirit.

Your spirit is sweet even if the libation is dry, is that what you're saying?

Or do you mean your wit is dry even if the libation is sweet?

Speaking specifically as poet, I never know what I'm talking about.

Only the Hodges specialists know what you're talking about, and I doubt your privy to their views. After all, have you ever published anything in a refereed journal on HJH? I didn't think so.

(Do they call themselves "Hodgesians"? "Hodgeites"? "Hodge-o-philes"? "Hodge-heads"? "Hedge-Hodges"?
